CER prices continue to be weak, over 11 million CERs issued

Climate Connect News, 7 November 2011,
London: The week of 31 October – 4 November saw registration of 6 CDM projects, two more than that for 24 - 28 October. Issuance of CERs, for the week of 31 October – 4 November (11.26 million) was nearly three times than in week of 24 - 28 October (4.09 million).

CER prices fell by more than 6 per cent closing at Euros 6.6 on 2 November 2011 at BlueNext (a fall of 45 cents) with no trade being reported for 3 and 4 November 2011 due to closure for maintenance activities of the transaction logs. The price fall was in continuation to trend seen in the previous week where in CER spot prices had fell by 12 cents. In the current week the prices have fell by 33 cents. The fall in prices for CER is being linked to negative news from Europe with continued uncertainty surrounding the Greek debt crisis and the economy.
